Welcome to Mutt Match’s personalized services:
Private In-Home Consultation
Not every dog is right for every household. Before we even begin contacting local shelters and rescues, we meet with your entire family for an in-home consultation. This informal gathering is our way of getting to know you and understanding what your hopes and desires are in a dog. We look at factors such as your lifestyle, family makeup, and preferences together with our in-depth knowledge and experience with both dog breeds and local rescues/shelters to find that fit between your family and the dog awaiting you.
Search of Local Shelters and Rescues
Once we know what you are looking for, Mutt Match can begin working with its network of rescues and shelters to search for a dog that suits your needs. On your own, this search can be time-consuming and frustrating. If you are a Mutt Match client, you are pre-approved with our affiliated rescues and shelters. The Mutt Match experience makes the adoption process smoother, and dare we say, even enjoyable.
Behavioral Evaluation
This process includes gathering information from the rescue and shelter presidents, foster families, in-person observations, and a series of specific behavioral assessments, looking for sociability and safety. We try to learn as much about each individual dog before your meeting takes places.
Meet & Greet
Once we have a potential adoptee for you—a dog that we think matches the traits you have specified—it is now time for your family and the dog to be introduced. Mutt Match will be there with you, providing additional guidance and advice. This is your opportunity to decide if this is the dog for you. If it’s a match, you bring your new four-legged family member home.
A Mutt Match is Made
Now that the adoption is finalized and the newest family member is settling in, we will provide support during the adjustment period to ensure a smooth transition for all. House training, crate training, and similar help will be available to you. You will not be alone during this transition time.
The professional fee for the above service is $200.00.
